Opening Hours

Sofia Zoo is open every day all year round without a day off!
Summer opening hours (from April to October)
Ticket sale and entrance: 9:30–18:00 hrs
All visitors must leave the Zoo at 19:00 hrs
The Big cats enclosure, terrarium and aquarium, The Elephant House and The Monkey Houses are open from 9:30 to 18:30 hrs.
The Administration office is working from 8:30 to 17:00 hrs  Monday to Friday).

Admission prices

Individual Visit
Children up to 2 years old – Free
From 3 to 17 years old – 2 leva
Over 18 years old- 4 leva
Pensioners- 1 lev
People with disabilities – 1 lev
Zoo pass for one year (annual card) – 50 leva

Group Visits (for groups of 15 or more individuals)
For the group organizer-Free
Children up to 3 years old- Free
From 3 to 18 years old – 1 lev
Over 18 years old – 3 leva
For individuals in special institutions-Free

Please bring the appropriate document to verify age and special categories.

Please note that the ticket is valid  30 minutes after  issuing.

Visitors’ Rules

Dear visitors,

We kindly remind you that pets, bikes, scooters, rollerblades, segway, hoverboards, balls and balloons are not permitted in the Zoo.
Please note that in Sofia Zoo is not allowed to:

• touch the exhibited animals, to feed them and to throw any objects to their enclosures. The animals in the Zoo are fed on carefully prepared and balanced diets. Feeding animals with sweets, bread and other treats can make them ill and even kill them!
• make photos and videos with professional cameras for commercial use without permission.
• visit the Zoo under the influence of alcohol or any other intoxicants.
• enter into restricted areas and/or areas protected by safety fence.

Visitors under 12 years old must be accompanied by an adult.
Please keep your entry ticket until you leave the Zoo and present your ticket on request.
